hey guys i just did the 3" gm maf and translator i dont have a intake pipe anymore but i also want to pass emissions cause in ny there EXTREMELY anal,

the one hose going to the intake i just put a breather on,
The other hose going to the canister i dont know what to do with it, if i cap it will i still pass emissions is there some other vacuum source i can hook it up to?

and the other hose i know goes to boost selonoid (no biggie its not throwing a cel)

so what shall i do? HELP i hate ny i wish i could live in east guam and have a open header and shiz LOL

I really dont know what you can get away with as far as emissions, here in MI we dont do testing so we rip it all out :)
You could put a barbed fitting in your new intake pipe if you want to re-hook it up.

If I remember correctly, you're not supposed to cap off the charcoal canister hose. What I plan on doing (as I will be doing the MAF-T setup very soon) is running the crank case hose (from side of head) to a nipple on my intake pipe - the only nipple on there. And then when it comes time to get inspection, put the charcoal tube on the nipple and just drop the crank case one down since that one isn't necessary to pass, as the charcoal one is.

I'm not sure if this works, as I don't have it installed and gone for emissions, but after talking with my mechanic and thinking about it, it should pass no problem.

Someone let me know if I'm wrong on anything though.

well im running just a straight cone filter on my big 16g no intake pipe ALSO,

if i just leave the charchol canister disconnected will i have any issues with performance? ie (fuel cut, sputtering any of that stuff?) cause right now i think maybe its a bad tune because i have the maft gen II hooked up and the car sputters right around boost but if you can get past the sputter it pulls good and hard so i mean i have everything on the maft at 0 just like the car was stock but its all hooked up

im just wondering what the charcoal canister does, does it supply fuel? also can u please explain further about the pipe your going to hook it up to? and im looking for a perm. solution to this problem not just a quick fix for emissions im looking for a spot to hook it up and have it operate like stock

No you can remove it and not even realize its gone...
Well that is until you see a cleaner engine bay.

You don't want to plug the lines. You can remove the canister, because all it does is filter fumes, but your gas tank still needs to be vented.

A proper intake pipe would be a better idea, but I've done the filter off the turbo thing too. What worked for me was adding a fitting to the couple itself.

well im just gonna take the hose off and put a breather on it till i can find a reasonable vacuum to hook it up to im not paying for a intake if i dont need one cause i kinda like the whole air filter off the turbo
