warsaw,
ok i just changed my head gasket tonight and now i have no spark to the spark plugs...the car ran before i started so i wouldnt think the equipment is faulty. but when i changed the gasket i had lifted the head up a little bit...there wasnt much resistance so i wouldnt think i pulled a plugin lose or a wire outta one but i was wondering if anyone had this problem or maybe would know most of the plugins and maybe help me out on fixing this problem...i looked over the intake plugins, coil(well what i could see),fuses....thanx for looking and more thanx if u can help...
chris
oh yeah the car is a 91 talon tsi...

So all you did was unbolt the head and lift it up a little bit, take out the old gasket and just stick a new one on? Bad idea man. Hopefully it seals.

Did you take the cas off? If so it could be 180* out. Check to make sure the coil is plugged in. Check the MPI fuse. Check to make sure the power transistor is plugged in on the side of the intake manifold.

ok...im gonna try to put the cas on a diff way...but if i take off the cas and spin it by hand..will that make the plugs spark on a car that works...or is that a bad way to test it?
i got a multimeter today and it is getting power to it...so u mean 180 off buy the little spinner or the whole unit...thanx

hey does that cas control the fuel injectors too?...becuz i have come to the conclusion that they might not be firing either...ive been messing with it and i would think the plugs would be wet if the plugs werent firing and the injectors would...should i be thinking this way..im gonna see if its getting fuel tomorow morning. I'm almost to the point of taking this damn car to the shop...if it wasnt so expensive to get it fixed it would have already been there.
but thanx for the help and i am gonna try to put the cas in a diff way
thanx
chris

i had the same problem with my 90 tsi when i changed my head gasketbout 3 weeks ago. the only problem with mine was that i plugged the wires from my cas into a connector that came form the intake manifold. it took me a week to figure out that the wires from the cas should have been plugged into one of the other connectors by my firewall. u might wanna check over all yours wires.

alright guys..thanx i have checked it all over and spun the cas like u said but still nothing, its going to the shop tommorow..there gonna put it on the computer..i had talked to that guy and he said on alot of these cars that he has worked on alot of them have been the cas and some of them have been the ecu..he says that his computer will tell him what it is ...so im gonna have him hook it up and see, then ill just replace what ever needs fixed but ill do it myself cuz he is kinda high..but i wanna thank everyone for there help, also i have been reading thru the forums and this seems to be a common problem for everyone so i will post the results of what happens at this shop..thanx
chris

also on the ecu um what years will fit the car? and will a fwd ecu work with it...just curious to which car i can steal parts off of at the junk yard that might fit my car...thanx again
