Alright so in my 1997 talon, the vent got pushed out back into the dash. I was wondering if anyone knows how to properly take it out and put it back on? I do not want to break anything, so I didn't want to just try and pry on anything without trying to see if anyone knows.

That's correct. The trim piece that holds the hazard switch, defrost switch, switch blank, and whatever switch on the right side depending on your model's equipment, and has the 2 vents in the middle, will come straight out without tools. As long as you're persistent. I always use a small flat head screwdriver to pry it out slightly. On some models, there's a push/pull rod on the right side of the bents on the inside that helps direct A/C air flow. If you have that, it can be a pain to remove if not careful. For that, try to release the 2 top and 2 bottom plastic clips that hold the vents to the trim. The rod is attached to the vents themselves and is easier to pull off if the trim is separated from the vents before removing the vents. If the trim was pushed in somehow, then somethings broken. It shouldn't go in at all.

Alright. Thank you for all the help!

Be careful that you don't break the clip holding the cable for the cool-air-bypass switch (just to the right of the vent, between the rear wiper switch and the vent itself). It's easiest to use a long handled screw driver to slip it off of the control.

Its just held in by clips. Just take the trim around it out and get it out. but be careful these clips are not that strong so when you re install do it gently.
