Have been searching here & through out google and can't find the damn answer :banghead:

When im driving, the car rides like it normally would, no issues, no noises, no problems.

After about 20-30 minutes of driving, coming to a red light or stop sign I roll in neutral, then stop, shift into 1st. As I go to take off, I shift around 3k into 2nd.

Once in 2nd the CEL won't come on till around 3k. After 3k BOOM, CEL comes on, car doesn't seem to have the power it normally would/does in 2nd.

Any idea what could be causing this issue ?

Car has a few mods (exhaust,intake,550cc injectors,walbro 255, full 3" exhaust, header,dsm link V3, big 16g turbo.)

edit ** If I floor the gas, it has no power. If I go right into 3rd and back into 2nd the car goessssss

AND BTW - THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME..HAPPENS EVERY FEW DAYS

You need to pull codes from the ECU to see which sensor is the culprit that is sending your vehicle in an "open loop" condition and also rough operation.

I had the basic problem, but in reverse: no start when hot and had an occasional CEL light. Ran codes and my temp sensor had died. Replaced Temp sensor and got things back to normal.

I had an issue like this where my cel would come on with random power loss. Ended up being my knock sensor. I'd check yours and see if that gelatin stuff on the back side of it is melting off. That was my issue and a $30 beck arnley sensor from rock auto fixed her right up.

You mention you have link. Did you buy the car this way or did you put everything on? I only ask because if you put it on then you should be ale to make a log and see what's going on. It's most likely knock. Check to see what the CEL knock is set to, and then adjust it to your liking. Also go out and take a log of this happening and post it here that way myself and others can check it out and give advice on how to make it go away.

Also in your mods I'd doesn't say anything about a AFPR. You should definitely get one to accommodate the 255lph fuel pump.

Also when you say it only happens sometimes, are you going WOT, or are you just normal cruising? What is boost at when you get the CEL? And I would really get a wideband. To help tune and so you know what your afr's are.

I mean it can be when you floor it that the fuel pump is just dumping too much fuel causing it to knock as in rich knock. You really need to get a AFPR and wideband ASAP.

When I go to plug my OBD2 reader in, it says "NO CODES". The Link is not storing them im assuming ????

You need to tune it! Make a log with link, you'll see that the CEL is coming on to warn you about the nigh counts of knock.

Street tune good enough ? I am installing a t3 t/4 50 trim next week along with a GReddy full front mount set up with piping. Should I wait and get it tuned then ? Or tune now, and every little thing, gonna be alright :sneaky:

I'll give it a look ! I appreciate all the help !

Anthony, I bought the car with the link already installed. What website has a download link so I can install the program onto my laptop ? It's when im boosting, once I get from vac to pressure (around 3psi) I can floor it and the car is kinda "limp"

I have my A/F Ratio gauge and boost gauge. The car does have a Fuel Lab "FMU" as the guys in my shop call it.

Go to this link I'm providing below and download the correct program you need.

ECMTuning, Inc.

After that, get it all set up on your laptop and plug it in and start a log. Go out and drive normal, cruise, then try to get a log with the problem that you are having. It has to be knock. I only say that because I got mine set up to 1 degree on my set up and when my cell goes on I know it's knocking then I loosen off the gas and it would go away. But I think your knocking hella like 10 degrees give or take because your saying your feeling an actual loss of power. When my car knocks 2 degrees tops, I don't feel the loss of power. So I'm guessing your getting a high amount of knock to feel the loss of power like that. I'm also guessing it has something to do with fuel. Too much fuel can cause knock as well especially on pump. So ever tuned the car most likely didnt do a good job. The maps, fuel tables, and timing tables are probably not dialed in correctly. So go to that linka nd download the correct version you need and set up everything. Get some logs and post them up. Make sure to keep them short or clip to section so we don't have to go through a 30 minute log and try to find the problem. You can even OM me for my cell and I can talk you through it. Hope this helps.

Downloaded it and installed it on my laptop !!!

So I hooked up the ECMLink and the car is knocking at 12.7 @ 26.1 mph

Car has been doing it in ALL gears now, except 5th. Power loss like a mofo :ohdamn:

What settings would I use on the ECMLink to adjust the knock through the ECU
