So I've been having a couple electrical issues with the DD. One of which I believe I have worked out after doing some research.

I have an aftermarket deck in the car. If it's 1) turned above a certain volume level OR 2) brakes are pressed OR 3) randomly while accelerating OR 4) turn the headlights on, I lose power to the deck. When the headlights are turned on the deck will turn on and off repeatedly.

I found out by accident that whatever is causing this issue is in the interior wiring and has nothing to do with the ACTUAL headlights. (Back story- I'm popping accessory fuses like mad and while the fuse was blown or out, the stereo worked just fine even with the headlights on)

I've already pulled the deck out and re-wired the clusterfcuk that was the previous owners wiring job ( <3 you Mr. Jeff!) and that's had absolutely no effect on this issue.

Any help or a point in the direction of a thread would be appreciated.

ALSO! If I could be pointed in the direction of a 1g NT 4g63 wiring diagram that isn't Chilton or Haynes that would be amazing!

Yes. Factory plug is gone. I attempted to decipher the Haynes wiring diagram and the thing is seriously retarded. A better one would be appreciated if you have access. What color is the proper power? Do you think it's a possibility the previous owner could have wired into the accessory power by mistake? Wouldn't this cause the stereo to only work when the headlights are on?

i have never had a problem like that but if it had to be my guess i would think he might have wired into the illumination or the dimmer wires to power the head unit, and when you power the unit it has the dimmer trying to shut it down and the illumination wire trying to power it back up thus making it flicker, also the ground wire should be grounded to the chassis. thats just a guess but after you have assured you have it wired properly and it still does it, it would be something else in the car i think.

Hmmm...I hadn't thought about it being wired into the accessories like that just because I thought it would only work under those circumstances with the accessories on. But I'll check it out today. Thanks!
