Yesterday I put some 272's dks cams in my car and I had to take the CAS off the end of the intake camshaft, when I went to put it back, is there a certain way to put it back on? It's an adjustable CAS. Will it mess with my timing?

Shims that came with my camshaft's are suppose to go underneath the lifter's right? I didn't put the shims in, everything idle's fine.

yes the shims go under the lifters, i'd recommend you use them, but I have heard of people not using shims on regrinds and being OK...

As far as the CAS goes you should rotate the motor to TDC and set the CAS to TDC as well. There are two dots on the CAS line those up as well then slip it in. You will need a timing light to check timing and adjust it accordingly, but its safe to start and even drive the car, but stay off the boost till you check timing.
