I purchased the black hall effect CAS and it does not match the plug that I had for my last CAS. Does anyone know where I can get a new harness for the hall effect, I have been looking and cannot find it. I have a 1998 Eagle TSI. Thanks for any help.

Do you have a 6 bolt or 7 bolt engine for one? If you have a 6 bolt then you can get the harness from Magnus Motorsports. That's where I got mine from. Or if you have good electrical skills and the right connectors, you can build one for free. Did that once before too.

Also if you're not sure which engine, post up some pictures so we can help better ;)

Ive got the 7 bolt converter to run the 1g black cas. Bought used off the forum, but i think magnus is the only one who made the adapters. Plugs in to the cps, cas, then you run a wire somewhere.... i forget but its real easy.

Never heard of a 6 bolt CAS being used/converted for a full 7 bolt engine. 3 of the wires go to the crank sensor, and the 4th, always seen it white, goes to the factory 7 bolt CAS connector location. I believe JNZTuning now sells the adapter harness as well.

1g cas in a 7bolt? Never heard of it huh? Yea, it eliminates the need for a CPS. Simplifies things a bit. They build harnesses for the 6 and 7 bolt last i checked. Or they used to. 1g cas in a 2g

No no no no..... of course I've heard of a 1G CAS on a 7 bolt. My spyder is the 2nd DSM I've dropped a 6 bolt into with a 2g head. I'm quite familiar with the swap. I think we misunderstood each other. From your prior post, I thought you meant a complete factory 2g 7 bolt with the 1G CAS.

^^^ I think I may be the one missing something LOL. Well.... if thats the case i might have a blacktop cas with harness in the classifieds soon.

I could have sworn people used 2g head/1g cas to eliminate the crank sensor. I havent even looked it up again. I bought it several months ago and my build is on a major hold now.

The purpose of it is because the 6 bolt block doesn't have any provision for a crank sensor. Which is why a 6 bolt swap requires the adapter harness.

I have a 6 bolt engine with a gen 2 head.

Then at a minimum you'll need the adapter harness. Since you don't have a 95 or 96, you won't have to swap the injector signal or spark plug firing order.

This is the same setup I have and have done it very well. Do you know which sensor was in its place prior to the black top? A pic of the sensor connector could let us know quick which one was there before...

Yep spyder that's why they have a sensor, the green top or black top will work many like the black top for better resolution, I grabbed me one a while back.

I've always used the black top as well, better resolution for the sensor readings according to what I've read about them. Hall-Effect sensors are generally batter than the optical sensors. My last 6 bolt had an optical CAS from a '90, without a plug and was horribly hardwired to the harness. I pulled it all and swapped in the black top.

Previously I had a green top CAS for a 90-92 and I bought the adaptor and it worked fine. I Have the black top Hall effect and the adaptor does not fit. I thought it was the same adaptor because it looked very similar, although it didn't fit the black top. I found one on Magnus and JNZ Tuning but I want to make sure it will fit from my car to that CAS. If You need a pic I can get one

I have both a green top and a black top, they have the same connector. Are you sure you didn't get one from a different car? Can you post a picture of the connector on your black top cas?

This is the part that I bought last time. I don't think it is the green top.

O.E.M. Number: MD148855 cardone crank angle sensor.
I am going to past a picture of the sensor I had before and a picture of the connector for the black top

This is the one that I had.

The connectors are very similar, but they are not interchangeable.

I purchased the CAS from Advance Auto Parts and it is an OEM product. I found the adapter on JNZ Tuning and am not sure if it will fit the Hall Effect. Does anyone know if it definitely fits the adapter?

I am curious to see the connector that you say is not fitting the CAS, can you post a picture? Again, green top and black top do have the same connector, if it is the very same connector that was fitting a 1G green top it must fit the black top.
