carrier bearing bolt

Well heres the short story, the back carrier bearing stud snapped on one side and i was wondering how id replace that stud.

There was just another thread on this in the last couple days, but can't find it at the moment.

You need to drill out the spot welds and weld a new stud in place, or fab up something similar with a steel bolt, fender washer, etc.

Is there another way to do it, i just saw a thread of spraying it with pb blaster or using a torch around it and vice grips on it? is that a possibility i dont have a welder.

I'm confused. If you snapped the stud off, how is spraying it with PB blaster or a torch gonna help? Can you not get the carrier bearing off the stud?

Regardless, you need to weld another stud in. It may be possible to run a bolt through from the inside depending on which bolt it is, but I doubt it (and it wouldn't be the best method by far even if you could).

That may be so, but you can't re-install a new, full-length replacement stud unless that bracket is removed from the car. It's too long for the small gap between the underside of the bracket and the underside of the car. I can't think of a legitimate fix for this without removing the bracket from the car.
