I have a 95 awd. Is the axle carrier bearing bracket on a 95 awd different then on a 98 awd? I have a 98 carrier bearing bracket and the holes don't line up at all. Not only that but the hole closer to the wheel is about 1" away from the block!! Is there supposed to be a spacer somewhere? The A/C is still there. I also have a 95 bracket and it is alot closer but still doesn't line up right. I had to oval out one of the holes a little just to get one bolt in. What the F**K is going on here? The car used to be a auto and now it's a 5-speed. What am I missing here? Pease help me! My entire suspension is torn apart!!

Thanks for any help

Heres a pic of them. Top one is from a 98 and the bottom came out of my car. But the bottom one still doesn't fit the way it's supposed to. The top one looks juts like the one from the car in the 2g awd axle removal in the tech section.

Why not just use the one that fits, and put the new axle on it? And I can't imagine them having different blocks for an auto vs. manual...Thats weird.

The one that fits doesn't really fit to begin with. Only one bolt will go in and with that one the hole in the bracket had to be filed out alittle. The bolt closest to the wheel is the only one in.

are you getting the axle shoved in all the way until the clip engages? yours should line up once the axles in the whole way.

Well the first person to have this problem was my stepdad who is a A mechanic and has been working on cars for over 20 years. He said he could not understand why it wouldn't fit. It doesn't make sense. I don't think anything on my car has ever made sense though...haha. I guess the blocks are different where in bolts up in 95 and 98. Thats the only thing I can think of.
