I thought I'd post here again about dying my carpet black. I was planning on doing it and finally started. It's sitting in the dye right now, so it should be done in a couple days. I'll let you guys know if it comes out good, because it was pretty cheap and easy.

FYI,
Dealer doesn't carry the OEM carpet anymore. Just tried. Spoke to someone at accmats yesterday. You can buy directly from them, but they suggest you go through a third party vendor. This way the price is cheaper.

I want to redo my carpeting myself because I want to carpet where the back seats are and remove the back seats. I also plan on doing a battery relocation at some point. I saw Defiant's post about oven heated sand bags, one what is that and two does anyone have a site I can just buy the carpeting not cut or molded. Also what would you suggest as far as making a frame for the carpeting, or can I just carpet over what is under the back seats?

I plan on ordering mine from machv.com along with the interior spray so i can convert everything to black. I've never had a problem with their products.

Any one know if the carpet in an Avenger is the same as an Eclipse?
I ask because I'm thinking that it is longer in the back.
If it is the same I plan on swapping the carpet from my parts car Avenger.

I got one in my car and it fits like sh!* in the back but it looks ok in the front.
I don't know what year it was off though.

Okay well i have been searching for awhile now to order some new black carpet for a 2g. i wanted to switch over to black carpeting and i have herd a lot of people ordering carpet and it doesnt fit at all. so i just wanted to see if anyone has ordered carpet for thier DSM on the internet and they like it. here is what i had in mind:

its the 4th one down. the complete set. but then it says FWD, does that matter?

Of course you can't get OEM carpet anymore but I assume you mean OEM-style.

It will never fit as perfect as OEM but as long as the carpet is made by ACC it is about the best you will find for aftermarket carpet and it works quite well.

I as well. I just finished putting it in 2 days ago. It comes a bit oversized so you will need to do some cutting, as well as their are no holes cut anywhere. Overall, I was very impressed.

Well I would say on a scale of 0-10 with 10 being a perfect mold, I would say it was a 7 at most. The problem is that it is shipped folded up in a box, and when you pull it out, you pretty much have to form it yourself, save for the area directly beneath the front seats. That was ok.

I was able to get a tan one from the dealer for a 2gb Talon I flipped about 6 months ago. Took them a week to find one on the top shelf of some store room a few states over. I don't remember it being over $200 either, so it's worth at least asking.
