Eclipse Carpet--Molded Eclipse Carpet--Mitsubishi Eclipse Carpet

I've been mulling over the same issue as you for a while now. While I was going to chime in and suggest ACC: your authority for custom automotive carpet, floor mats, and more, I checked out your link and WOW, is all I have to say. I was a little perplexed when I read that all the carpets, from your link, were still coming from accmats but hey, there's one hell of a price difference. Your link for the win:thumb:

Auto Carpet Experts for Car, Truck, Van, Automotive Carpets | Stock Interiors

I got mine from them, follow the instructions and get a good knife.

THIS ONE is going to be the one that I'll order from, however. NOT TO TAKE AWAY FROM THE OP AT ALL, but I noticed the biggest price difference out of this link. THANK YOU! I'm actually excited to order carpet now. :)

I was able to get a tan one from the dealer for a 2gb Talon I flipped about 6 months ago. Took them a week to find one on the top shelf of some store room a few states over. I don't remember it being over $200 either, so it's worth at least asking.

Now, though the Carpet may be under $200, the floor mats and the cargo area carpet will, I would guess, most certainly bring that total dollar amount WAY up. They don't call them stealerships for no reason. I'm not disagreeing with you or insinuating that you have a bad idea, I'm just trying to help shine the light on the MOST cost effective way to order based on the three websites suggested.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Allow me to lay out some math?? Alright. From what I've seen, briefly, out of the three links suggested, I would feel most comfortable buying from them in this order (Based on website layout, product descriptions, and PRICES). 1) Stock interiors.com 2)auto-interior.com 3)accmats.com [I liked "my" website, but the price's of stock interiors carpet is like night and day difference]

Here's the "math" I wanted to lay out: Options #1 and 2 (Horse a piece) - For a BASIC(No additional costs/add ons) COMPLETE set of carpet (Passenger compartment AND the cargo compartment) and floor mats shipped to my address, it'll cost me roughly $240 as compared to "my" website's(Option #3) $485.

I know this was a lot, so I'm sorry:coy:. I just hope it made some sense to anyone who's going to read this. I know what option I'm choosing now and all I have to say is thank you to DGajre777:thumb:

Decided to clean my carpet today, and when i got it all taken out I decided its too dirty to clean.. Anyone know if the carpet from the Avenger/sebring etc.. fit the 2g dsm?? I have a source of them both and they are super clean.. Thanks guys

the avenger is very similar, but since its not a hatch im not sure if it will work.. the dimensions are alot different. you can always check it out and measure them and stuff tho:)

but i would just go with some new replacement carpet...

you can buy one from ebay for a 2g in whatever color you want:thumb:

Replacement Interior Carpet Can't go wrong with the guys at MachV :thumb:

Thats not what I wanted to know,LOL..

The avenger has the same seats/center console and dash so I figuired it would have the same dimension'd carpet?? Same as the Sebring.. Ill just pull the carpet and let ya guys know how it looks for future reference..

THE ONLY way it will fit is to cut in in half under the seats and overlap it. THe avenger/sebring carpet is a good 10in longer. I used some in the GS and unless you get fancy it looks like ass crack. Youll need to cut it in the middle like I stated and massage it to make it fit around the rear floor board area.

Good lookin on the info..

Its pretty bad that that just all of the dsm's have crappy interior. Id like to keep the interior in my Talon all original, but mine is pretty bad from all the other "mechanics" befor me, and their dirty ass greasy shoes. LOL. Ill figuire something out and ill get back to you and let you guys know how it goes??

Ebay has premolded carpet listed for like $130USD Ive seen several different companies. It looked pretty good quality. My buddy put some in his car he bought black whenever he blacked out the interior I was impressed with the fitment. I believe he bought a two piece similarly cut to how I explained on the avenger/sebring carpet. Look into full sebring black panels etc. Everything but the centerconsole and a few back pieces are different.

I used flat black duplicolor to match some interior pieces its pretty tough stuff as long as you scuff and prep it good.

I am looking for an update in regard to this. More or less horror stories and of course success stories with recommendations on carpet. I want to replace mine soon and will most likely jump on an ebay deal - so if anyone has any suggestions please post them!

Thanks

I'm in the same boat I just pulled my carpet all threw it away. Machv has the carpet but seems pretty pricey anybody have luck ebay?

I got mine from stockinteriors.com. Was like $129 shipped. Great quality and very fast shipping. I put my old carpet on top of the new and it lines up great. There is quite a bit of extra material on the new one but thats because you need to cut to fit. Your going to get that with any aftermarket carpet.

Just wanted to report on OC auto carpets. Actually ill post up in product reviews. I had no idea these "custom fit" carpets were such a pain in the ass. This thing needs to be cut all over. It IS about 10x's the quality of OEM though. I ordered mass backing so its even heavier for sound damping. Very nice, but get ready to make a lot of adjustments. Im installing now
Edit: paid about $240(mass backing was like 80 extra)

2G ACC carpet review here. I haven't read this entire thread.

If you have your old carpet, go ahead and pull it out, unroll the ACC carpet, and let each sit out and relax for a bit.

Look at the frame where some parts are raised. Go ahead and remove the back padding from ACC carpet in those areas (with scissors), including the horizontal ridges where the seats bolt down. There's way too much padding and it doesn't fit well with it there.

Then put the factory carpet on top of the ACC and get the floor contours to line up, including floor ridges. Go to town cutting the carpet with very sharp scissors (like KitchenAid), maybe leaving an extra inch or 2 if you want, especially past door sills, maybe 3in extra there. Reason is that the new carpet doesn't have those plastic hangers stapled to it to keep in place under door sills. I didn't cut enough, especially around console, and had to do all kinds of cutting in car. Would not leave extra at the front footwells, get as close to original as possible. Also would not leave extra by console if I had to do it again.

Supposedly a hole saw bit in reverse can cut some of the holes out without snagging. I didn't have patience for that.

Good luck with getting the rear footwells to line up. I made a bunch of relief cuts because the molding wasn't good enough.

All this said, I don't really recommend the ACC carpet. Just get some good factory carpet and dye it if needed. Then it fits like factory, obviously.
