Car Wont Idle

NOOB here.

So I was driving home and stopped at a stop light and noticed taht my idle was bouncing as if i was out of gas. I reved the engine and then took off and it was fine. I stopped at the next stop light and it stalled on me. It started right up and drove fine. It is a 99 RS with about 103000 miles on it. Only mod is an intake that was on it when i got it about 3 years ago. The check engine light is not coming on and car starts fine it just wont idle. Any ideas? i move in a week and its about a 1000 mile drive so i need my car in good condition. Thanks everyone!

Could be a tank of bad gas, leaking intake post-MAS or the throttle body or that your ISC motor (in the throttle body) is gummed up.

First thing I'd try would be to hose out your throttle body with some throttle body cleaner. If that does not do the trick, remove the ISC motor and make sure to clean the inside of that.

Also change to a different gas station to see if that helps

Thanks. My car today will actually idle but very poorly. How do i clean out my throttle body, and honestly i dont even know what that looks like. Is it located on the intake manafold?

Your air intake connects to a pipe that connects to the throttle body. The throttle body is between the intake pipe and your intake manifold. It looks like a box with a coil on the back side. I'm not fluent with your kind. It'll probably have some vacuum lines on it.

Thanks. I put a new tank of gas in today and some of that injector cleaner stuff... whether or not that stuff did anything the car runs fine now. Thanks for your help. Im sure you will be hearing of more problems of mine soon. haha
