Car just had a major malfunction and after installing a new maf, and doing an over all visual check, the car will start up rough and cut out after about 5 seconds, cars a 98 gst with about 300 hp, is there anything I can test or check to narrow down what the problems might be, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, ummm.... we have no idea. Wanna know why?

We don't have a clue as to what has been done to the car. It's not in your profile. You didn't give us a parts list. Are you throwing a CEL.
Does it smell funny when you try and start it? What RPM range does it stay in? C'mon, you've got to help us if you want us to help you.

mods...

Injen intake, Thermal Exhaust, downpipe, hyper ground system, EVO III 16g turbo, upper IC pipe with the HKS SSQ BOV, EGT, Oil Pressure, Boost Gauges, Triple pillar gauge pod, 1st gen throttle body, intake manifold and head, prothane motor mounts, greddy full auto turbo timer, short throw shifter (B&M), Adjustable Race Cam Gears, Unorthodox Racing Pulley Kit, Kevlar timing and balancing belts, Turbo XS boost controller, Magnacor plug wires with NGK's.

no funny smells, no lights have been thrown, almost seems as if i'm low on compression too.

Maf sensor was changed, idles normal, whether gas is given or it just idles will shutoff at the same time either way, if there is any other information I can give you just let me know.

With no CEL's I would do exactly what you said, and run a compression test. Otherwise, ISC might be going bad on you Also might want to check your TPS.
So, there's a start for you.
1)Compression test
2)ISC
3)TPS

Check those out, then post back and tell us what you found.

With no knowledgeable shops around here, I contacted showdown motorsports in toledo, OH and I'm just gonna send it down there sometime this week, thanks for the input and I'll pass the information on when I get it down there, I'll post what they find out as soon they get back to me.

Check your MAP sensor. Mine was bad and it would make my car stall unless i had my foot on the gas.
