the motor cranks and it gets fuel pressure but no spark, and it will not kick over. The tachometer does not move while the motor cranks either. Also the palm pilot data logger stopped working and it tells me to check the connection. The connection is fine and the data logger works fine in my brothers car but not in mine; not sure if the problems are related or not.
I tried swapping out the ignition coil pack and the transistor pack one at a time; no change. I swapped out the cam angle sensor; no change. I swapped out the capacitors in the ecu; no change and i checked the ecu in another car and it started this car without any problems. Note: after the ecu started the other persons car it gave a check engine light and the data logger said it was for the barometric pressure sensor. Note: both cars have a MAFT translator in them... I also tried another ecu in my car and there was no change.

any help is greatly appreciated,
thanks,
Jesse

no, it was an intermittent problem at first. the problem began awhile ago but after a few attempts to start it would finally kick over and now it just doesn't start at all.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now. I've changed the spark plugs/wires/ecu/isc/MPI relay and the thing still won't start. I know I'm getting fuel and compresstion also. One of my DSM buddies is gonna help me with it on the 5th, I'll post when we find the problem.

iu woudl have suggested the alt fuse or motor (mpi) fuse

I had the same problem when i did my 1G head swap....come to find out it was a bad ignition transistor pack. Check that, I'm pretty sure that's it. Good luck!

well, today I was able to get the car to start but I am not sure why. I put a meter on the wires going to the ecu to make sure it was getting power to it and it wasn't and then all of a sudden it was. I can only guess that there was a loose connection going into the ecu. I put the original ecu back in, the ecu that i tested in my friends car to verify that it works, and it started right up. The only problem now, is the check engine light for the barometric pressure sensor. I am not sure what is causing this barometric pressure sensor to come on. Any ideas?
