car will not start. no spark. please help

i have a 90 talon tsi awd. i just replaced. the engine and got everything back together. went to start it and it cranks over, but has no spark. i tried changing the coil pack and that doesnt seem to help.

also when i crank it. it keeps cranking. when i pull the key out it keeps cranking on its own for about ten seconds and then quits. i cannot figure out what is the f*ing deal.

1. Have you checked that you hooked up the ignition trigger?
2. it is possible that your starter relay is sticking, locate it and tap it next time it does the continous crank thing.
