i have a 2nd gen with the 6bolt. built motor.. 16 g turbo etc. i had an exhaust leak and i just fixed that but before i fixed it i put new spark plugs in it and i put the e3 that require no gap. well lets just say i think that this was a horrible mistake... i was driving and the oil pressure light comes on when i push the clutch in. but now its been stalling out when i am coming to a redlight or stop sign.. anyone know what the problem could be? it has the act flywheel and act clutch..

Will it stall if you pull it out of gear without pressing the clutch??

Also, what happens if you are idling in neutral and press the clutch in?

Dontknow about the oil light. You check the oil?Or the gauge sender? You have a stock mass air sensor on a vented to the atmosphere BOV?Boost leak?Could be lots of things look things over and give more details.

hks blowoff, it doesnt always stall if u give it some gas when your coming to the stop.. but its pretty bad when i am driving and i almost slam into the back of someone becuz the car shuts off and the brakes dont work as good.

and oil is fine.. triple checked that allday

oil light come on more when i am stopped but does come on when i am driving, no other lights come on, and when its about to die my stereo will start cutting out till i turn the volume down more... but that was always like that even before this problem..

What is your idle like? Low, normal, etc. Sounds to me like adjustment of the biss screw is needed and/or new alternator.

Sounds like the alternator not holding voltage. I know mine does this and it's because of the isc being bad. I can gas it a little to hold it from stalling. If you have a voltage meter you can watch as your voltage goes crazy when you get closer to idle speed.

The underhood picture in your gallery on your profile page shows your "hks" bov and does not appear to be recirculated. that would cause a stalling problem,.....as stated in many many many many many posts if you look around on this site.

yes i am planning on buying that part online to recirculate it.. i was on my way to get the alternator checked at advanced auto.. and i was doing like 60? and then boom shut off.. coasted it off the road to the shoulder. just kept cranking wouldnt start.. had to get it towed =[ i checked everything i could when i was waiting for some help... but i cant figure out what the problem is.. and it must have just got alot worst:ohdamn:

Good choice on deciding to buy the recirculating fitting. I had my greddy type s vented and experienced the same symptoms. I finally got tired of it and just recirculated it back into the intake. No problems after that. Although I do miss the sound. Definitely sounds like the alternator was crapping out on you. Swap the alternator out and you should be good to go. Hopefully the battery can be recharged so you don't have to replace that as well. Let us know how it goes.

If the car was cranking after it died, the alternator isn't the problem. Or, at least it didn't cause the car to stall. There is something else wrong

keep u all posted thanks. and btw once i recirculate the bov. that takes the noise away? off the bov? im gunna miss that LOL..

timing belt snapped  i just bought this car last week. i have now owned it 7days.. it ran like shit more than half of them and i paid over 5400 now with everything done to it.. what should i do now? the shop wants like 250 to pull the head off to tell me what it needs.. this car is my daily driver. and i am still in high school.. back to the bus

Pull the head off and tell you what it needs? If your belt snapped you need valves pull the head yourself and save yourself some money. Find a head that is rebuilt buy some arps and a hg and do a full belt job while you are at it. Good luck I know how it is to be a broke kid I just went through this a couple of months ago. Sucks but the belts are one of the first things that should have been done.

crazy things happen. Always do a timing belt on these cars unless reciepts and dates prove otherwise. Goodluck with your headwork, id buy a used head, arps, HG, timing belt, voila....running car again.

I bought my car with the BOV being vented to the atmosphere. I'm having a shop weld a return inlet on for around $60. I have similar stalling issues, just not as bad i guess. A new alternator and timing belt were first. In my case, if the turbo ever spools up at all and I push the clutch in and leave it in for too long the car will stall. It rarely ever happens, but when it does I just let the clutch out a bit to start it back up. Sorry to hear about the timing belt :ohdamn:

Do you recall if most of the time when it stalled while coming to a stop or whatever if you have things like your headlights on and heater blasted? Mine always does this. So I turn off the heater coming to a stop and it wont stall. Actually, mine doesnt stall. But the alternator belt squeels and almost stalls. I just turn my heater off and its fine. For some reason when I am using alot of things that use voltage, it happens.

What county do you live in?

just moved to luzurne county, no i had the heat on maybe like 2 or 3? at the most. headlight were on and i have the hid kit i dont know how many volts they take.. so that might have been the problem.. the heads getting taken off today to see whats all wrong.. thanks everyone thats willing to lend a hand i appreciate all the help and suggestions on new parts etc.. :)
