car shoots fire out throttle body ans sounds like it wants to back fire

Just want to see if anyone has ever had this happened and what it could be. I have a 1991 Eagle Talon TSI when i go to start my car it sound like its chocking out and like it back firing and flames will come out my throttle body i was thinking it could be the turbo but not sure.

How old is the timing belt? When I changed my timing belt the first time on my first dsm, I had the cams not right and it did exactly what you describe, but it ended up bending valves in the head.

So depending on age of the timing belt, the timing could have slipped.

i just bought the motor from jdm imports everything was supposed to be good i ll re check the timing and get back to you on that

just an update i checked the timing everything was good
