OK, first off I'm running a SD setup which I'm still learning my way around (haven't even played with the VE tables and not sure if I should). And I'm also using the car in forced open loop, as I like to cruise with my AFRs pretty lean, and I like a lean idle (17-18) so I get a nice sounding lope.
But I just can't seem to get that lean idle. Idle seems to be stuck around 13-14 and usually the idle is a little higher than where I want it to be (around 1,000 or so instead of the 750rpm that is set). Now as soon as I put load on the engine, my AFRs go to where they should be in my fuelling table, but if I'm cruising with my foot barely touching the gas, the AFRs will richen up to 12-13 again. Give it the tiniest bit of throttle and they drop right down to 16-17.
Have attached a couple of logs; one of idle and one of me doing a little driving around so you can see what's happening. Think it has something to do with the AFRatioEst, which is way off at idle (but where I would like my actual AFRs to be), but pretty good when the engine is under load. Am getting back into the swing of ECMLink though and am more used to doing WOT tuning so this cruising stuff is a little new to me. But I'm guessing this could be part of the reason I was getting gas mileage on my last tank that could only be described as "rotary-esque".
Any thoughts from these logs on things I could try to lean it out? Could it be that my BISS needs adjusting to let some more air into the system at idle?
