In my last post I was having a problem with my clutch that I've finally got fixed so that I can moved on to yet another problem...who would have guessed, actually it's 2 problems.

I had to go back to college after holiday break and couldn't get my car fixed in time so I drove a different vehicle and my parents brought it to a mechanic to get it fixed. Apparently the disk that I used from a 1g in my back yard with my spec pressure plate wasn't compatible. The fingers were hitting on the center of the disc before it fully released it.

My other issue was that my camber was way off and so I got 2 of the ingalls front end camber kits. The ones that bolt on from the control arm to the frame, not the ball joint ones. I put them on and had them set more toward the positive side and noticed the top of the control was hitting the wheel well but I search here and seen that it can do that if the camber is set to positive and the car is lowered. So before my parents brought me my car they got it aligned and said it drove nice but 100 miles of driving I seen that the control arms were still hitting the wheel wells and have definitely done some damage. I'm assuming that the guy didn't adjust the camber and only the toe but if anyone else knows anything about this let me know.

Last, but certainly not least is my real problem. My car suddenly will only crank. Sometimes it wants to start a little bit but not anywhere near actually running. I've checked the fuel pressure regulator and and its getting pressure and stay up there while cranking. Assuming compression was fine I suspected it to be spark but it wants to start a little so I know I'm getting at least some spark. Seems to me as though maybe something got disconnected. I don't really have any tools with me here at college except a multi-meter and some pliers plus I have to work outside which sucks.

Anyway, I would really like to try to do some diagnostics to see what it is even if I can't fix it right now. I tried going though most of the connections in the engine bay that I know of but I haven't found anything disconnected. If you know of any that could be causing my problem I will check it out, or of course any other possibilities would be great too. I'm checking CAS and injectors right now just because it seems like what other people threads have been saying, and also it's not out of gas :)

Thanks for any help.

1996 Cars have OB2, do a diagnostics check. Or in other words, check for the check engine light codes. There are "Hotw to's" everywhere, i would try that.

i scan tool will only tell you a no start problem if is a hard fault, such as somthing unplugged... if your lucky. most codes can take a full warm up cycle to appear. continue what you are doing checking all the connections under there. also visually confirm that you have spark with a plu on the wire grounded. also look into the plug wire slots in your coil packs, make sure they arent burnt or toasted.

If the car had been sitting for a while you might have an old fuel issue. I just had an issue with year old E85 solidifying on my 1600s. I took it to Jack's Transmissions, they ran solvent through them and ta-da, she started right up. So, I would say go buy a bottle of Seafoam and dip the tip of the injectors in that stuff. Then put the rest of that Seafoam in your tank to help clean everything else out.
