ok guys well my car takes a few too many cranks to start IMO. None of my other friends with 4g63 motors take that long to crank over. i thought it could be due to bad compression so we tested it today and it ran 150 across all 4 cylinders. now what should i try next new plugs\wires? distrubutor? starter? let me know what you guys think thanks
mike

I would start off with the basic's.. Check plugs make sure correct gap and not fouled out. Also depending on how old the wires are replace those. You dont have a distributor so it would be hard to check for a worn cap and rotor.

Then check your fuel system make sure you got a good fuel pressure at the fuel rail, and check your fuel filter make sure its pluged up.

Then i would check your timing and make sure its on. Cause if your timing is off that too will make it hard to start as well.

the timing sounds like thats what it would be seing as i was told the timing belt tensioner needs to be replaced soon by the guy i bought the car from.

Ha Ha LOL
One of you is talking about the mechanical timing and the other is talking about the electronic timing.
