Car not running

OK here goes the back round. i bought a 95 talon esi and it had idling problems lots of idle surge. I took it to my mechanic and ask him to fix the problem which I figured he did since I drove it home with no problem. Also I don't drive this car often it mostly sits waiting for my to finish working on it so it has been sitting for a couples weeks. Yesterday I started it and it took a couple trys, when I finally got it going it idled OK but than staled when I get to the stop sign. I drove it around for about 10Min's and fought with it to keep it running. when I got home the car died and it will not start. it will turn over. So I am guessing that it is either not getting fuel, spark or air.


I have a couple questions

1. Should I hear the fuel pump when I turn the key on
2. Can I see if the throttle body is clean with out removing it
3. is there a easy way to check for spark from my coil or easy way to check if coil is bad?

1. yes you sould hear the fuel pump kick on if you listten closely
2. sure if you want to check to see if the throotle body in clean...just take off the intake pipe and open the butterfly inside...if there is alot of oil build up or grime..you should probably take it off and clean it
3. The easy way to check for spark.. disconect your fuel injectors, take one wire out at a time, put an old plug on the end of the wire, ground it and try and start the car. if you see a spark...well then you have spark
