Was driving my 95A GSX on the expressway at about 65. Car loses all power. Now there is no spark or fuel. I can jump the fuel pump from relay. Have changed out ECU bought from fellow dsmer changed out coil packs and ignition module.

Thanks. We havebeen checking them and so far everything is fine. Boyfriend thinks i was sold a bad. ECU. When the car died the security light came on for a few seconds right before it died so we are wondering if it is somehow in limp mode. That green light has never come on before. Not even briefly on start up

Yeah cranks but no spark or fuel. Do our cars have a limp mode? It seems strange to me that the light all of a sudden came on right before it died...

If the factory alarm is set then you wouldnt be able to crank the car it kill all power to the vehicle. Check for a bad ground. limp mode can be bypassed if you un hook the negative terminal to the battery for 15 sec, keep in mind the ecu will run its checks after a couple seconds of the car being started, and could throw the vehicle back into limp mode. but it honestly sounds like a bad ground.

My 95 gsx is doing same thing, I have an ecu that is just been upgraded to v3 so i know its good. I also replaced same things you did. My fuel pump will only turn on when i trip the relay manually. I cant get a working connection to the ecu. Are you able to connect to your ecu with a laptop or a typical scanner?

So leave on the positive and remove the negative?

Can't connect with a laptop and I dont have access to a scanner either.

When the green security light came on it was the only light to come on before the car died and that is the only time in the past year and a half I have even seen that light up.

Timing belt is fine.

We have checked everything and power seems fine everywhere except to the Anti theft relay panel which has nothing when tested with light.

So my boyfriend thinks someone either sold us a bad ECU or it's some how in security mode. The locks are electric but for whatever reason dont work so I dont know if the lock unlock method would even work.

doesnt matter if u keep the positive on or not just kill the current to the car. so clamp the negative or positive either way it will clear any security or limp mode. My 95 tsi didnt have working power locks so when i got out the car (outa habit) i locked it from the inside which sets the security system and when i unlocked with the key the door would open but the alarm was still set. had to open the hood remove the negative cable and afterwords worked great.

yeah i think riceburning101 might be on to somthing with the crank or cam angle sensor. seems like that would be somthing that would cause the fuel and spark to stop working at the same time. anyways you dont need a scanner to read the trouble codes http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...-reading-2g-abs-diagnostic-trouble-codes.html . i thought you could read the code by flipping the ignition switch on and off three times also without grounding the pin....

Are the codes the same on a 95? The reason i ask is because everything seems to be unique on my stupid car.

This same event happened to me. It stuttered under load for a few days and then just quit. However I have never seen the security light.

It was a loose connector on the coil pack transistor.

An easier way to find your specific issue is to remove the connector from the ECU and use a multimeter. Find the pin diagram to check resistances to all major functional sensors, coil packs, grounds and voltages.

A single wire fray, open or short can halt the ECU in several ways.

Resistance values can be found in the manual for trouble shooting.

It may take a few minutes to complete but it will rule out several more time consuming possibilities.

Then use the same meter to check the sensors as the car turns over to ensure they are functional.
