I just put in my other skateboard bearing on the tranny side and now it will not go into gears 1-3-5 running or not.

When I am in gears 2-4-R I can pull far back more than is needed. Feels like a spring. Shifting was fine until after I did this.

Any ideas?

The last person to own this car has zip ties on the shifter linkage on the one that is stiff

there is supposed to be a cotter pin that holds that down with a little peg and if thats on there then its missing the clip that holds the cable to the bracket.

I had a issue where i couldnt shift into 2,4, or R. My cables were all fault. Have a friend watch the cable when you shift. It obviously wen it shift and when it doesnt. I cant remember exactly what happens, if thats not it. Check the shifter assembly, specifically the U clip that attaches cables to shifter. Good Luck, and the cables are an easy fix.

I cut off those zip ties and I pushed that silver rod thing back up as far as I could and Re zip tied it just how it looks now and I can shift into all gears now. But it is really squishy going into gears 2-4-R now but nice and smooth / tight going into 1-3-5.
What is suppose to be there so that I can get rid of these zip ties and make sure it is solid going into all gears?

looks like the clamps are missing look at the pick i posted and you will see what i mean. might just have to buy new cables.
