This passenger side axle is owning me. I managed to put the axle back in but there is about 2mm -4mm of space between the tranny and the cup that I dont remember it being there. I've been banging the crap out of the axle (I hope I'm not hurting anythign inside there). Right now, the axle is "connected" to the tranny, and I've been trying to bang in the last 4mm. I pull out the hub as much as the boot will allow, and push in with all my strength.

Everything is disconnected from the hub.

I am using a jack to hold up the hub so I can get a straight shot into the tranny. Ive also tried using a lower angle and a higer angle and also turning the rotor while pushing in the axle.

There is about 2mm of space in between, and using my screw driver, it easily seperates to 4mm of space, so I know the axle isnt all the way in

Any tips on how I can get the axle to pop in? Should I completely remove the axle from the tranny and try to bang it in again?

And what if the snap ring is fubard? Is this a Mitsu only part or can I find this in a isle at Autozone? I didnt inspect it when putting it in so I dont remember what its supposed to look like

I tried pushing the hub in while hitting the axle nut with a hammer. No luck still

I don't know if this matters but when I replaced the axle seal on the passenger side, the seal isn't completely flush with the tranny. It is maybe 2mm recessed in. I don't know if this will prevent the axle from clicking in
