Can't find silencer! [1G]

I was checking my air intake system today. I see the honeycombs, but I do not see the silencer. Are there any chances that the previous owner may have removed it? Should it be visible when I remove the air filter? If someone could maybe post some pictures to how it looks with a silencer, and how it looks without it?

That one, again, is crushed. If it is not there - where the intake pipe connects to the MAF unit (with the honeycomb) - it is highly possible it has been removed.

I had searched, saw those pictures... But saw nothing like it when I checked my air intake :S

Maybe it's already been removed. No big deal. Thanks anyway
