Yes the nut is very stripped and chewed up but the thread looks fine. is the thread off my new master cylinder different? whats the problem here i seem to have plenty of slack. do i need to replace the coupling? if so how do i do that?

The threads should be the same. Maybe time for a stainless clutch line? Easy to install and half the headache of hard lines!

Alot of times it is just a pain and you dont have the right angle on it. Also make sure the flare nut is tight up against the flare at the end of the tubing.

so perhaps i am pushing too much of the line into the cylinder? cause i was pushing the line in as far as i could should i not be doing that? :idontknow:

May just be an optical illusion from my crappy monitor here at work. But you're spinning it to the right correct? Also cant completely tell from the video but that looks like a 2g clutch master. may want to reference the part #.

ya i suppose that would be right i'm turning in towards the motor. il have to check the part number tomorrow. you have no idea how many times this local parts store has messed up with me before LOL. i wouldn't doubt it. they once told me to put gear oil in my master cylinder... so ya. he even argued with me over it. he was like my computer says to use gear oil.

Make sure that you get that line in there perfectly straight too.I cross threaded it right there before because the line was not straight, and then it wouldn't seal...Resulting in me having to buy a new damn master cylinder!Just be careful

This same BS happened to me a while back....
I was impatient installing the master cylinder & i cross threaded the line 2 Hell. I brought a SS braided line & even that would not tread in because i screwed up the Master cylinder itself:ohdamn:
I ended up pulling it back out & re taping it with a 10mm X1.00 Tap, saving the brand new MC i nearly ruined.
Dont let this happen to you;)
