Can your girl drive your act 2600??

Im about 90% sure that im going to get a act 2600 for my 90 gsx. Just curious if my girl will be able to drive it? Shes strong, no body builder though, like 5"6" (maybe) 110lbs.

Before this goes any farther, no offense to women. Im not saying your weak, ive never had a 2600 so i dont know what they are like.

Umm, for your sake I hope not too many girls read this. My 5'0" 110 lb gf can handle it no problem. Pedal is heavier than stock, but not a big deal. Some people have very close to stock pedal pressure, depends on the application, install, age of parts, etc. Every car is different.

Yeah thats why i clarified, ive never driven them, i dont know the pressure either. My buddy has a mustang just like mine, 2003, and his clutch is INSANE to push down .

Mine was heavy as hell (ACT 2600.) Its just the surprise factor that youll have to get used to after driving around in anything else. My girl was really surprised but in the end she ended up agreeing with me that its actually easier to drive, since you dont have to lift up much before the clutch engages. Before she used to be really scared driving up hill, with this clutch she tells me its not a prob

My girlfriend loves driving my car. She drove it when the 2600 was in it, and actually didn't like it when the 2100 went in. She says she likes the whooshing noise it makes when she shifts.

If your ACT 2600 feels heavy, it is not properly adjusted.
Check out RRE's and TRE's sites for info on adjustment. For sure, if it feels much more than stock, you need to tweek it.

my gf is pretty small, she doesnt have any problems driving mine which has an ACT 2600 and manual steering.

1. ok..reading on those links, they don't mention about heavy clutch. Mainly about clutch play.

2. What's the minimal amount of "Play" before the clutch should begin to engage(not fully (is this called slipping the clutch?)) The way my car is right now, it doesn't take much release before the wheels want to start moving. (ACT 2600 clutch.) Isn't this purposely done for racing?

The clutch gets heavy because you're outside of the "sweet spot" in the mechanism.
Your clutch is not supposed to release just off the floor.
Re-read the TRE page.
You need a factory manual.

That is what I was thinking, mine is a little bit heavier than the 2100 in my 3G GT, but not by much. But on topic, my girl has no problems driving mine. I am actually thinking about teaching her how to launch it so she can make a couple of passes at the track WTF
