I just bought my first dsm a few days ago for 2500, talon tsi with 103k. Needed cleaned real good on the inside and some here and there parts. Ill post up some pics when I'm finished.
Back to my question, I drove it all the way from the person i bought it from to my house which is a good 200 plus miles away with no problems, all the belts were just changed and fresh oil put in. Last night I was driving it and my oil light came on and I lost all oil pressure. I shut the car right down to find a trail of oil behind my car. Got underneath and the oil filter came loose. Tightened it back up and put new oil in and drove it home. This morning i was taking it to a buddys garage to determine why it did that and the same thing happened. I couldnt diagnose the problem on the side of the road with no tools so I put new oil in it and drove it home.
With fresh oil in it and only when the car is running oil LOOKS to be leaking out of the oil cooler. Is it common for the oil cooler to crack and leak? Or could it just look like its leaking if the 23mm bolt that holds the oil filter is loose?
Thanks and BTW if anyone could give me a part number for the coolant hose that runs from the oil cooler to right next to the radiator cap it would save me alot of time.
