I looked for a write up for an Aeromotive a1000 afpr and saw a different one but my regulator is a bit different. I just wanted to see if someone can give me some pointers on installing it. Here's a picture of the afpr:

I was told by a friend it would work but not too sure. He just threw it to me pretty much right after he took it off his gs-t.

Bottom fitting- return line. Left side fitting comes from the rail. Little nipple on top left is vacuum.

You have a line from the fuel rail that goes into the pressure regulator. The other end goes to the return fuel line. The small nipple goes to a pressure source.

On any AFPR the side ports are the fuel being fed to the AFPR. There are usually multiple ones because of cars with multiple banks or rails. Having one rail means only one will be used, and any others need to be blocked off. The bottom is always the return.

Ok. There's also another fitting behind the gauge.
I bought an Install Kit from extremepsi that came with al the fittings and -an line. Should I take all the other fittings that are already on the afpr and use the new ones? the ones on the regulator, some are blue, black, and purple. I bought the install kit with all black fittings

A new member, Guilty1s, who isn't able to post in there has just informed me that I have the one for carburated engines.. So this regulator isn't useful to me. FML

How can someone tell by looking at one blurry picture? The only way to tell would be to see the spring inside.

I checked aeromotive's website and it was the same. The design is the same, there isn't one for our engine's in that design. I'm waiting on an email to tell if they did make the same design or not.

Depends on what -an size of line you are using and what size comes with the afpr. You will need to match the size of the line to the size of the fitting.

thanks for not helping at all.

Holy crap they are different. Aeromotive is the only company to make different looking regulators for the same model between EFI and carbureted.

yes sir, email confirms this. Luckily, after a post on the good ol' CL, i have some buddy interested in it. I will purchase the correct one from Aeromotive. LOL

Yup, Guilty1s is right. That one if only adjustable from 3-15 psi base pressure because it's for a carbureted application.

Yeah, "A1000" is a general term with those guys. They have four regulators and a fuel pump that all use the term "A1000" in the description. That's why it's always best to use part numbers instead of descriptions when discussing parts.
