Sherwood Park,
Ive got a 1990 talon with a 1991 ECU in it. Ive already swapped pins 6 & 14. However finding a transistor with part of the wiring harness is next to impossible. Can I use my 1990 transistor and still run the car, just without having my tach working.

OR

do I need a 1991 transistor in order for me to run the car.

My cousin has a 90 talon and he had to cross the wires as you did to run the 92 ecu in his car but he didn't have to change anything else. So yes im sure the car will run, you just won't have a tach

Does anyone know if the pocketlogger or SAFC will still have an RPM value?

It will run by swapping 6 and 14 using a 91+ ECU and a 90 power transistor and coil pack in a 90 car.

There are several ways to fix the issue with the tach, you can graft in a 91+ power transistor or get the conversion board from Keydiver and modify the ECU as well as swapping in a 91+ ignition and cluster.
