Ok so i have a PTE 50trim turbo with a 7cm bolt on mitsu housing, and just got one hell of a deal on a turbonetics t3/t4 57 trim turbo. My question is...would i be able to put the 7cm mitsu housing on the turbonetics t3/t4?

The PTE needs a rebuild and i could not pass the t3 up. Any thoughts?

I dont think you understood what i was asking. Basically i want to swap hotsides and put my 7cm mitsu housing on the turbonetics to replace the t3 hotside.

Oh i see, not sure about that one. I would doubt it since the t3 hot side wheel is a bit big to fit in the mitsu housing.
Anyone else wanna chip in on this one ?

Ok, thats what i was looking for. I have never messed with a t3/t4 turbo, nor seen one up close. I imagine i could port/bore the mitsu housing to fit the t3 wheel.

No

you might could get it machined though.

The back plate compressor cover and the 57trim wheels might swap onto the 50 trim?? Then keep the turbine wheel of the 50 trim.

57trim compressor wheel with a 50 trim turbine wheel. But you did say the 50trim needed a rebuild so idk.

Sell the 57-trim, use that money to repair the 50-trim.

A 57-trim compressor doesn't have a very impressive map- especially at low boost. Unless you're running 25+psi, you're better off with a 50-trim unless you're a fan of lag.

Another bad idea is putting the DSM bolt-on turbine housing on the 57-trim. PTE's DSM bolt-on housings are the poorest-flowing housing on the market. Even if the turbine wheels were identical and the housing bolts right on, if you run enough boost to make the 57-trim compressor happy then the turbine housing will be a restriction.

If you absolutely insist, both turbos should have the same turbine dimensions so the housings will swap just fine.

Both turbos should have the same turbine, so swapping turbines will get you nowhere.

I believe the Turbonetics T31 will have a few less blades than the PTE, but their inducer / exducer sizes are the same.
