Can a Turbo Alternator work in a N/T car?

The cars are a 1993 Eclipse GS

The car that the alternator is coming from is a 1992 GS-T

I talked to an autoparts store and they told me that there are different part numbers for each alternator but is that because of the amps? Will it still work if I put the Turbo alternator in the N/T alternator? They are both 4g63...

This is the symptoms lately. I was driving along one day and the car stereo just quit on me but the car kept running...

This morning is when it quit. It started up perfectly and then before I got to the first stop sign everything was running slow. the radio shut off on me automaticly. I turned the car off. Tried to start it again and it just turned over slowly...

Any Ideas? I am thinking alternator. However I just had both tested (the battery and the alternator and both checked out just fine) I am thinking though that the alternator is spiking or something....

If it's a NA 4G63 the turbo alternator should swap directly and provide a little higher current than the stock NA alternator

Make sure that the alternator fuse is good and check to see what the battery voltage is with the car off and again when it's running.

I't also a good idea to check he wires and battery terminals for corrosion or being loose.

Ok I put the alternator on and everything works fine! :thumb:
I have to put on my data logger from my turbo car to see the Volts and see if it is putting out the right amount.

So like you said the one from the turbo must provide a better current and thats why they are different. Thats a good thing because at idle everything seemed to be fading anyway.

I checked all the fuses and all checked out fine! I put a new battery in it as well and clamped all the connections. Everything should be good now!

What killed the old alternator is that power steering fluid was dumping on the alt. I am trying to figure out a way to seal up that..

I am getting angry, the thing is leaking all over, I have used a washer, copper washer, and also sealant and the thing still bleeds fluid out...

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I am about ready to make it a manual steering car soon!

Found out I need some O rings to fix power steering pump...
If this doesn't work, I am going to manual steering!
