Ok I have a 91 laser turbo fwd. The other day my exhaust camshaft siezed and it caused my to skip timing and bending valves. Come to find out my camshaft welded itself to the head. I replaced head with a whole new one. After assembling everything and doing timing. I let it run for abot ten mins and bam. The same thing happend again. Exhaust cam welded to the head. What could cause this. I just went through two heads in two days please help

I would guess your timing was off and you smashed the valves into the pistons and didnt allow the cam to turn causing it to sieze on the bent valves.

do you run any oil additives? what oil are you running? how are you reusing you lifters? can you give more info on both heads i.e. reused parts?

no additives. Synthetic 10 40 oil. First head was brand new. The second head was a spare that was complete. No parts werewer reused. I even changed the timing belt to a gates belt. I no my timing belt is correct. Im very confident in this.

If you are running a 6 bolt bottom end with 7 bolt heads and you are not having the holes drilled out you will starve the head for oil. The oil is fed to the head around one of the head bolts/studs. Specifically the studs, they are a bit thicker.

May also be improperly installed cam caps.

Your next head you may want to consider having a machine shop checking the size of the head bolt holes and that the cam/cam caps are properly matched to the head.

it does sound like an oiling issue. i would def. replace the oil pump "make sure all the lifters are bled", triple check the cam caps.

what head are you running, 6bolt or 7bolt?

dont rush anything and take your time. you dont wanna tar-up a 3rd head.
