Ok Im new to The DSM thing but im good with cars. I have a 93 awd talon with a 6 bolt and 1G head. When i purchased the car it had a broken timing belt. Not a big deal to fix. just send the head out to a machine shope and im good to go .... so I thought...
..
One of the cam bearings are/is scored really bad. If It was like a american V8 I would just align bore it and add a new set of larger bearings. So now that Im dealing with this set up what can I do to fix this. If I align bore it then the cam will not fit and will fail shortly after. Is the head garbage or can the machine shop and metal to it then aling bore it again?
I really hate to trash this head as it has been ported and flows very well not to mention that a similar new head would cost me 1500.00 +
Any ideas or thoughts gladly accepted,
Thanks,
Ken
