Cam duration????

A little bit confused with cam duration..Previous owner told me he replaced the valve springs and cams.. Cams are 272 duration on exhaust and intake side and are adjustable with gears... Someone help me out here?

More info is needed as duration is measured at many points.

Search for the difference between advertised duration, and duration at .05", all advertised duration cams do not have the same ramp rate, or effective duration.

To the op. What brand are the cams?

Thats what i was getting at... His question isnt specific at all. He didnt ask for the duration at .05". He didnt really ask anything at all.
