Well...got the timing belt job done. Now car rotates but doesn't start. Gets fuel but no spark.

Spark plugs are good. I wasn't too sure if there was a specific way to install the CAS. I just lined the slot up with the slot in the camshaft. Which was at TDC btw....

Sometimes after I let go of the key it'll still try to crank for half a second maybe one. No spark from the spark plug wires so I know it has to be the CAS..The wires were chewed off at the base, so I stripped the sleeves and sodered back together. I might have gotten two mixed up, the yellow and beige I think..Because the colors are so faded I couldn't tell the difference..so if anyone can give me a color code schematic of these 4 wires coming from the cas itself I'd appreciate it.

Its going to be either of these,

*Cam Angle Sensor
*Crank Sensor (your a 1g so this doesnt apply)
*Spark Plug Wires
*Spark Plugs
*Power Transistor
*Coil Packs
*ECU

If your sure all those are good, then its going to be in your harness somewhere a wires not making contact or not connected

I spun the CAS with the ignition to the ON position and I could hear firing. So that tested good. So does that mean coil pack is good too then? ECU works, boost gauge goes to zero and cel comes on then off after a few seconds...so that leaves

Spark plugs
Spark plug wires
Power transitor

BTW, I can't hear the fuel pump whine but it's reaching the fuel rail....

Swapped spark plugs, still same deal.

Wires
Power Transistor
and possibly Coil pack next

Oh it gets fuel alright, d/c the fuel feed line from the fuel rail, cranked and that thing shot about 10 ft. :sneaky:

I don't get the screwdriver test for the spark plug wires.

Well, found the culprit. My power transistor plug was barely on! doh!

Pushed it in further, and it started right up. It idled at 4k because I had the accelerator cable too tight, but fixing all the loose ends she's back on the road.. Whew doggy. It's been sitting a month but I finally got the new head, timing belt, all accessories, and got it going again. I thank this sites member a lot, thank you!
