Ive had the Brian Crower springs and retainers for a little bit myself, they are pretty nice. I ordered the 280 style cams but they kept getting pushed back, 2 weeks when I ordered..3 weeks..4 weeks so I said forget it and got the Comp 101200s and havent looked back since.

Yeah they are about 30 miles from my house. They do really good work and are really helpful. I dropped off the bare head and parts minus cams and they put in new guides, seals, lapped the valves in and assembled everything and had it back to me in 2 days and you can barely walk in there shop theres so much stuff. :thumb:

I went ahaed and ordered a set of the BC 280 cams with springs and retainers last week.
Got them in yesterday.
Still waiting on my pistons from magnus but as soon as I get the new motor back together I will give my opinion on them.

I got my cams finally after a month. Brian said they had to be made and go through customs to get to cali from germany. I was like what ever I am getting free retainers. He did send me the springs and retainers before the cams so the machine shop could finish my head. I have put the cams in and now I am just trying to get the timing belt on.

Holy crap the cam gears were really stuck on the stock cams. The old vise broke before the bolt came loose. So I welded the vise again and broke the cam gear free.

We have begun testing of these cams as well, we will put them up against 101200 and will post results soon, this will also be on a basically stock car with bolt on's and a 16G.

We have 0101 and 0102 BC cams in stock, and can do combo deals as well.
(only two sets of each)

It doesnt seem likely that those cams were intended for a turbo that small. Put on a 50 trim or so. Otherwise you might as well just use 264's, you'll have almost the same results.

Well guys the motor is finally in. The new motor is sweet! The cams are definetly different than stock and I am breaking in my clutch as well as the motor so I havent ran them up past 6k but holy cow it pulls hard. I havent even tuned it at all. ( my logger wont work and I am pissed and made a thread in the tuning and engine management section If someone wants to help:thumb: ) But at like 12 lbs up top I think it pulls as hard as my old motor with 18 lbs. Very happy with them. The DF centerforce clutch is sweet too.:thumb: So much grippier than stock.

I have no experience with other cams or even new motors but I am extremely happy.:rocks: Espessially because they were so cheap.

that is great to hear! Please get a video of the car idling and some driving too!

Just as a side note how many mile have you put on that CFDF clutch? This is one clutch that you have to really follow the break in period or your clutch life may be much shorter then expected. You must drive atleast 450 miles in stop/go driving conditions without any boost. The people who say the CFDF clutch doesn't last at all & slips are usually the ones who didn't break it in properly.

I too am interested in these Brian Crower cams. I would like to hear about the longevity of these cams, and how much power these babbies make.

Son of a B. I put a good 500 miles of driving on the clutch before I did a launch. It rips pretty hard, but I can smell it pretty good after a hard studder box launch. But you can hear the tires squeal. I have only done 3 launches. I was boostin in the break in though 10psi. I was more conserned with seating the rings than the clutch.

The car is coming along and pulls really hard. It loves to frequent the stock red line. I havent taken it to the new 8k redline yet. I pulled a 13.8 on the stck motor at 20 psi with the stock slippy clutch. This pulls way harder.

I was getting alot of knock but I cam to find out after reading some post that I had the base timing way advanced and now I put it to stock and the knock seems to be gone. It only really knocks at part throttle .

I love how it idles and now that I am getting things tuned better on a good day it will idle at 750 and have the sweetest lope ever. I love it! :rocks:

Check out the web site and they have a dyno graph were a dsm gained like 75 hp with just the cams springs and retainers.

I am at 800 miles now and I am wondering if I keep it easy on the clutch will it help it grip better in the long run.

Anybody want to help with tuning check out my profile and give me some suggestions. After I put the 750s in I cant get it to start with out using the gas peddle. Sometimes it will start super fast without touching the peddle and some times I have to pump the gas and it takes a couple cranks to start. This was on the old motor to. I am throwing no codes.

Next mod is Water Injection:rocks: 20+ psi on the evo 16g here I come.:rocks:

You may not be holding fuel pressure and is why you are having the starting issue. Mine started after I put a AFPR on. What guys were telling me is crank it over for a second then let off wait a second and let the fuel build up in the lines and then start it and it starts right up. It sucks that on our cars the ECU controls the fuel pump with the igintion. Dont hit the gas at all when starting it it may shut the injectors off if you go to WOT.
As far as the clutch I dought it will change at this point.

For a while I ran a priming button, a button hooked up to my fuel pump rewire relay so that I could prime the fuel system before starting the car. After I replaced the stock oring/hat setup with a length of fuel injection hose and some fuel line clamps, the thing holds pressure and fuel pretty well and starts up on the first crank or two, even after days of not driving it.

Yea I was going to do that when I was checking my oring didnt. I have heard alot of guys doing this and will do the same. Need to get done before winter hits for sure.

Well I dont pump the gas just push the peddle down like 20%. It startes just fine I guess. But it will only start some times with the remote start. So I never use it and that is not cool. On the old injectors it started just fine. I would like to get it fixed before winter. The remote start turns the ignition on, seatbelts go back, heat comes on, then the car starts. On a good day. Then it struggles to run for a few seconds then will idle. Most of the time it will just crank 3 times then the remote start gives up.

maybe you should get a chip thats compensates for your injector size, then it wouldnt do that?

I beleive he has one in his mod listing. I just ordered the Brian Crower 280 cams, can't wait to get them in.:sneaky:

yup got one, That is a big reason I got the chip. It helped a little, but not much.

That is Sweet you ordered the 280 cams, I bet they really lope.

I don't know if the group buy is still going on but Orlando DSM was having a group buy for the cams. 265shipped. They are also having specials on the springs and retainers. I sent my money out acouple of weeks now so hopefully I get my 280 cams in and I'll put a video up of what it sounds like.
