I would go red but the ricers tell me yellow is good for an extra 20hp. But I think that only applies to school bus yellow. Something like canary yellow might only be good for about 10hp.

what do you guys think would look good a stock 2gb gsx with the stock 17's on it?

red....never ever ever ever ever paint them yellow. With break dust, they'd look brown in a day. RED! Besides your car is red, so it makes sense. Make sure you get the right kind of paint too. Or just save up and get some brembo's or rutora's.

That was good.

RED

As stated, yellow becomes discolored with dust too quickly.

anyone have any preference in what type of paint to use? imma paint mine red aswell, but i wanted to get an idea on what type of paint to buy first...

Wow LOL I think only one person picked yellow. Thanks for helping me out. I think I will go with red. Traditional, sporty and matches my red car. I don't think I am rich enough to buy Brembos. Does anyone know which brand of paint to use to paint the calipers?

ChrisFlo: I have no idea what brand my exhaust is. It came installed when I bought the car 1 and a half month ago. I will find out someday though, kinda lazy getting down on my knees in the snow right now. :D

VHT caliper paint is a good one. Summit Racing sells it. Pretty much any good caliper paint from like NAPA or somewhere.

I have to agree with everyone else...RED definitely. I used engine paint from pepboys. It said something like 1200 degree w/ ceramic. Then I cured the calipers in the oven. My dad wasn't to happy with me, it stinks a bit. I've had them on my car for like 6 months. No chipping, peeling, fading.

Go with RED :thumb:

Black will be too dark to see. But yeah I was thinking of yellow because I saw yellow calipers on a red Ferrari once. I thought it might look good on my Clipse. But then I realized it is a bit tacky. Red it is. Now I'm just waiting for warm and dry weather to come so I can paint them. Damn is it easy to take them out? Is there a tutorial on here that tells you how to take them out?

It's cake. Getting your wheel off is probably the hardest part. LOL.

Here, check this out. I don't know of any tutorial out there on how to remove your calipers, but look at the first two pictures/steps at this link. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/BigBrakesInstall.html

done.

What would probably be even more help to you would be a haynes or chiltons manual for your car. They've got steps for all kinds of little things like this listed out, and it's just good to have around. :)

The snow is gone, now we just have 5 days straight of rain. Typical Vancouver weather. Go with the Chiltons manual, I heard it is much better then the Haynes. I have the Haynes manual, and it isn't very good. Taking the wheels off and the calipers off is pretty easy, just time consuming, I don't think you'll need a book. :thumb:

You don't even need to take the calipers off. Just mask everything off and paint carefully.

But red with yellow???? You'd get beat up just driving through Surrey! :)

ill just throw another vote for red onto the already monsterous pile. i used engine paint on mine, but i totally fubard the paint when i was changing the brake pads the other day. i think next time im going to resand them carefully and then use the kind with a brush. its supposed to look better that way.
