Truly amazing, sweet that you have what seems to be an insane rear end setup on a street car.

I love street cars.

You guys keep up the good work, its not too often we see true car guys at this business anymore.
 
If I break another rear end I was going to have a chassis shop in Charlotte do mine but if this guy has already done one and the price is right I may reconsider. 24 hours round trip and 2 trips one to drop it off and one to pick it up. Any clue what the pricing is?

I just got back form the 10.5 race we attended last night, I ran a couple of 5.40's with a 1.26 and 1.24 60' in qualifying with crappy track conditions and in the second round of eliminations I went a new best of a 1.20 60'. Unfortunately the trans let go at the top of second gear and ended the night early. I should have some video footage soon.

Are you guys busting center diff, transfer, or idler gears? Tried shot peening?

Maybe all of the above?

I'm kind of curious what something like this would cost. I was debating on selling my car because of the added cost of breaking parts. After reading this information I can look into this instead of buying a Mustang over the winter. Could I be looking at 2000.00-3000.00 installed? I'm just worreid about breaking, as I prefer to keep the car a stick car for the time being.

Not sure yet. I will be tearing it apart this weekend.
 
This car and the whole cdub crew are verry impressive. I am excited to know the auto 8.8 setup has beendone. I have been gathering information and pricing a build to 4link my auto. Mirage. I have been wanting to make the car awd forever and since the awd diff isn't a bolt in affair I started looking into the 8.8. Seems to be about the same amount of fabrication, lets hope my cheesy welds hold up.

Do you ever have problems with transfer cases? I'm sure u have an upgraded unit, what case do you recommend. Also is their any video online of the car launching with the solid rear?

Nothin 'Freak' about it. A properly setup 4 link will lay those times all day long. The CDub boys have been doin it for a while. Great cars and nice builds.

Shep always had is 9" layin the smack down out there as well. If you wanna see crazy though is the fact Kiggly pulls similar 60fts in a FWD, now THAT is 'freaky'
 
Ya fortunately the shaft held up and is fixable thanks to dogbox. Here is a video of the last race I went to before breaking the trans then the t-case.

The point being you can't just through a bunch of parts together and expect 1.20. 60'. There is a lot more work, time and effort into it then some people are giving credit for,
