Buying new turbo need help is this a good turbo?

Would this be a good turbo for a DSM? It's a Trust/Greddytd07s-25g turbo capable of 650hp, what do you guys think about this size of turbo, is it too big or would it be good for a setup with a built motor?

Definately wouldn't be a good street turbo, but for race applications I'm sure it would be a very good turbo with the right supporting mods.

Well my Eclipse is my race car.. Do you think it would spool slow, it really doesn't look like too big of a trim its 70trim I believe.

For a race car thats not a bad turbo but I think if you are sticking with 2.0L you might see some serious lag... Maybe consider something dual ball bearing it seems like everyone in drag racing is using some sort of dual ball bearing turbo because of the lighting fast spool.

GT35R/37R's are good for 650 whp and the 37R will give you closer to 750 and you should see some pretty impressive spool nothing above 5000. They are pricy but are well worth the money IMO. Good luck!

get ready for some crazy lag, your looking at hitting full boost at mid 4ks, deffintely not a wise choice for a street car, but if you only really use it at the track... go for it. but by the look of your profile i wouldent bother, start getting all of you supporting mods first , and are stock block deffinetly wont handle the full potential of that turbo, youd probally need to get your self a 6bolt and go forged. if i was you i'd go with a 16 or 18g,trust me youll enjoy it alot more.

The look of my profile?? Do you mean having mods done? I have some things done already but I'm doing everything at once. I've got enough money for cams, pistons, rods,(might go with the stroker) AMS head. Now I just need a new turbo system and some other small things.

Anyone else with experience with bigger turbos help me out?

I think it would work well on a 2.3 or a 2.4. Make sure you plenty of injector, fuel pump, clutch and transmission to support it. You mentioned that this would be for a race car and as mentioned above, it would be better for that application than on the street although either is workable. I'd also recommend DSM Link or an AEM to tune that thing.

Hmm seems I may have to go with the stroker. I already know I need an EMS, clutch, fuel, suspension, etc... I'm just looking at my motor right now and what turbo would fit it right. I'll have to see what happens I guess, I may just go with a 20G or Gt35R what do you think? Yes, this will be a race car but my daily driver as well... at least for another year because I might just buy a Civic for a daily(which will probably get a k20 dropped in it anyway )
