is this turbo worth buying

hey guys i got a question. the guy i bought my talon from says he has a 14b or g turbo and frount mount intercooler with bov, is the 14b or g turbo better than the t25 garrett. I have done some reserch but never quite got my answer?.
also can i turn up the boost on that t25 or is it at its max. whats the max boost levels on both turbos. this guy is trying to sell me the turbo intercooler and bov for 700 bucks good deal or is he trying to rip me off


is it worth swaping in that turbo and the other parts.

the 14b is the stock turbo on 1g

The 14b is better than the T25, at least in my opinion.

And I think that is a retarded price for those three items. Screw that.

14b is better as in it will flow more than a t25, but for that much you should be able to get a used 16g, and front mount, just look in the classifieds there are a lot of better deals there. A 1g blow off valve would be a good upgrade if you not running a big turbo since it is metal instead of the plastic 2g one. For that price I would look elsewhere.

Agreed look else where, you can pick up a used 14b for like $100-$150. Pass on that.

Just look into getting a used 16g, they're about the same price as a used 14b. As for an intercooler there are used ones on the classifieds or you can check out punishment Racing's kit. It's very nice and come with bov but I would still get a 1g bov.

straight rip off. buy a 16g turbo instead. eBay's intercooler kits aren't that bad. use a 1g bov.

Yes a VERY bad ripoff. I bought my 14b blown for 20 bucks, rebuilt it with a 40 dollar kit, balanced, bead-blasted it for another 60 bucks. So $120=BRAND NEW 14b TURBO. Also, a T25 flows ~265cfm, vs. a 14b, which flows ~405cfm. A noticeable change for sure.

How much hp gain difference is their between the 14b and 16g?. I have found a 16g turbo on ebay and what kind of kit do I need to hook it up.

Unless it's a real MHI 16g with serial numbers given DO NOT BUY OFF EBAY!! It may look like a good deal but it will break quickly. Search the Classifieds or your local Craigslist. There is always good deals.

Stay away from any of the ebay 16g turbos. A friend of mine had one on his 1g Eclipse for less than 2 weeks and it grenaded itself and shot pieces of the exhaust wheel
through the down pipe.
