I've been searching around for a DSM for a while now and came across this ad on craigslist.
1993 eagle talon tsi awd
I haven't talked to the owner yet so I dont know anymore details about the car then what hes written. But from the pictures and current problems with the car(leaks oil from the return line and has a bad starter) it seems like a decent deal.
So my question is with the info you know about this car would you look into it further or continue searching for another?
Also how hard is it to fix the oil leak and also replace the starter?

Sorry about this im just new to DSM's

i have a 1932 eagle talon it run and drives good. The body needs a little work but still sexy. it leakes oil frome the return line on the turbo but not to bad needs a gasget that i can get.The starter is bad but i can start it if you would like to see it. like i said it is a 1993 eagle talon tsi awd turbo and a 5 speed newer cluch about 400 miles on it.I can send pics to your phone No email just call or tex me at (847)840-2451 thanks

thats old.

haha but for real, go check it out and get him to start it, and look it over REAL good.:thumb:

then say 2000 dollars is too much for a 1g that doesn't start and get it cheaper.

cash in hand talks ALOT.

Yeah, go look at it, start it, make sure it doesn't have any obvious issues and if you like it, tell him you like the car but with having to pay around $400 to fix the starter you would like to offer him $x,xxx and see what he says. If you doesn't take it he still might take a few hundred less than listed price. It never hurts to try and barter a bit.

For Starters, $2K is way too much for it due to a lot of body work (door's are prob sprung since they got hit in the inside while open-why you see the ripple at the ends of the fenders and that also twists the door pillars which can tweak the frame..), and the oil return line thingey isn't that all bad and even the starter situation (which it could be an ECU thing since it's prob hard to start which taxes down on the starter)..

Sorry, if you got plenty of green lining your pockets, know a good mechanic-both body and mechanical (or, good with doing your own work) and a firm desire to get this car, then go for it ....

Put a grand on a fishook and wave it in front of his face to see if he'll strike for a good bite, otherwise, walk away and find a better looking one for $2k.

You'll find others out there for sale ...

(and he's horrible on a keyboard - "1932"?? must be seriously on something..)

Good luck-DSM
