Ok some I'm looking for an engine stand and one don't know how to judge the quality on the stgands I've never had one or put an engine on the stand.

I'm sure your local parts store has one for 80-100. I would look for a used one there always people getting rid of them that they only use a few times

I bought a ac delco one from checkers. I have to modify the bolts to rotate the engine. I say have to because I have yet to do it. It works without complaints.

Get the harbor freight engine stand. Everybody I know uses it with no problems. We have my buddies 5.0 on a harbor freight engine stand right now. Kind of cheaply mad but it will definitely get the job done. And you can't go wrong for like $50.

Just remember the Harbor Freight stand doesn't come with bolts for the engine, it only comes with what you need to build the stand (or in my case, minus one split lock washer).

I used 6bolt main bolts to hold the engine on the stand.

Yup. Its a stand..pretty hard to buy a pos. Stay away from anything made from plastic...
