this may seem like a stupid question but what size bolts fit in the engine block to mount to my engine stand? Haven't pulled motor yet still need a length of chain from hardware store so i will buy the bolts then, any help will be much appreciated

You can just pull one of the trans mission bolts out for a reference when you go to a store.. But heres a link! 10mm x 1.25 is what you're looking for though.. As for length, just measure the length of the holes in the engine stand, thatll give you a shaft length. Dont for get maybe half inch or 3/4" for thread length.. I think the ones I have are about 4.5" long or so..

Don't forget to grab a bunch of washers to use as spacers as well. I would grab around 12 washers just in case. Then the fun part is finagling the arms on the stand to line up properly to the block. I have had good luck getting correct hardware from an Ace or Aco hardware store. I have not had an issue with strength of the fasteners I purchased from them.

I just used main bearing caps out of another 4g63 that a friend had they worked fine, my engine stand has ears welded rite on the arms so I had to take a saws all and cut maybe an 1/8 of a inch off the ears because the bolts where a little short and I wanted to make sure I got them screwed into the block far enough, my engine sat on the stand for a good 3 months so they are plenty strong enough

Ok sounds like a plan also any one familiar with ex-cell engine cranes made in America i bought a 2ton crane and matching stand new never used but sat in an old guys storage for 350 i put 200 down and rest on payments which the convenience factor of payments makes it worth it to me but wondering if its a good deal anything made in usa these days fetch premium prices so im assuming i did ok

Pics on profile page if you are that interested

Thanks

Not Quite sure on the prices but I no they are expensive so id say you deffenitly did good, an ya sawing that lil bit off those ears doesn't hurt anything at all, but ya that was the cheapest an easiest way I could come up with while doin mine
