South Haven,
I went and checked out a burgundy Talon TSI today. Interior was clean as all hell, tranny shifted smoothly (5 speed) and the car revved nicely and sounded solid. It was this chick's summer car and her husband seemed to take good care of it. Premium only, changed the oil and fluids religiously, just replaced all the belts and I made sure to specifically ask about the timing belt. Said he's never had any major problems with the car. It's got 88000 miles on it and he's asking $5000. Like I said, the cars in great condition, I just wish it wasn't burgundy. So, what do you guys think, is that a little high priced or what? I don't know much about turbo's, but I got raped when I bought my auto Eclipse GS. Give me your opinion, thanks.

from the way u discribe the car i think its a great car but id talk on the prive, since its not an awd 5k is a bit high but id try to go 4500-4000, if he doesnt budge i think id take it, talons can go forever and this onei s only at 88k ...mines at 211k :talon: :thumb:

Well..it really just depends...what year is the vehicle anyway?
$5,000 would be a great deal for a 97-98
$5,000 would be a good deal for a 95-96
$5,000 is pushing it for a 93-94, maybe cut down a grand
$5,000 is too much for a 90-92, again try to cut the price down

Oh wow I'm an idiot, I completely forgot to add the year. It's a 95. There's a 95 AWD for sale around me for $5500 with 86000, but I'm not sure I want an AWD. I'm gonna be on PLPD and it seems like AWD has a lot more stuff that can break. That and I don't like the added weight.

Trust me man.... 210hp even with treadwear rating at 280, pretty sticky right,
I can roll out in first til about 3.5k, nail it, fry the tires, er tire, grab second fry it for a little while....
Get an AWD 5spd Turbo....
Listen to the guy with the 60trim turbo, I bet he's dynoing around 350fwhp, and he has an auto tranny....
Read his wish list in his profile..... guess what it says..... "TRACTION"........ Need I say more, don't make the same mistake all of us GSTer's made....

i wouldnt say i made a mistake when buying my fwd although now with the added power i do wish i had awd but if you can get a smokin deal on a fwd id do that but awd is definitely superior to fwd

Ok, to sum up the responses. If you want a FWD then sounds good, just get it down to 4,500 or less. But, if you do want to venture into AWD{Which I love!} then just wait. I always see them lying around for sale. That price tag is best paid for an AWD.

Everyone that bought FWD and had a chance to get AWD regrets it, or they are in denial. ;) Do it right the first time. I see you're in Michgan, so snow is going to be an issue. My friend's GST is downright scary in the snow whereas my AWD shines.
What's this about weight? Go on a diet, remove some parts, or best yet, turn up the boost! :thumb:

I'll never buy a FWD car again. :thumbdown Everytime I drive a FWD car I spin the tires cause i'm so used to the AWD grip and hit the gas to much. If your planning on upping the horse power get an AWD. The extra money would be well spent. :thumb:

hehe but on the highway its just so much fun. :D From a roll race the fwd usually dominates but i just prefer to rip someone outta the hole. FWD isnt the worst thing in the world but its just that AWD is better all around. Go awd man unless you find some killa ass deal on a fwd. When i first bought my car i was gettin a sweet ass deal and at that moment i was like you "fwd cant be that bad".. I dunno im working with what i got though. Ive invested to much to start over or sell my car b/c i love it too much OMG
