several years ago i had a 95 talon N/A. I am looking to get another one because i have like an hour comute every day and i feel that this car is fun to drive and better than a grand cherokee on fuel. My question is this; i did not like the lack of power from my non turbo car so i am looking to buy a turbo car. What years shuold i be looking for? If i buy a turbo car that has not been modded at all do i have to worry about crankwall?? How prone are these cars to this(i have heard many horry stories) What should i be looking for when checking out the cars. Is 100,000 mile to much for these cars?
thanks
dave

Haha, how many stories did you hear and where from? Did you hear enough to know that the problem is crankWALK? I couldnt imagine you heard too many stories from too many sources that are really significant if you are referring to it as crankwall. However it does happen sometimes, people make it into a more common occurence than it is. Do a search on it and make your decision based on the truth that you find out from these forums.

100,000 too much? try 127,000 i have on my car, runs great.

I jumped head-first into a 95 Talon TSi fwd, not knowing much about them. Mine had 132,000 miles on it when I bought it.

Runs great, held up to all my mods no problem, and no crankwalk. Paid $3,150 for it.

I wouldn't worry about mileage, just the condition of the car is important. You may find one with 40,000 miles that has been ragged out and is total crap, or one that was taken care of for 150,000 miles and is in great shape.

Dude over like 70%+ of our cars have crankwalk outside of factory specs. It was a MAJOR problem. Some people have it so small that they don't realize.

whatever, me and 2 friends have 7 bolts, all had our clearances checked and are in spec. i agree its a problem, but regardless of the exact numbers, the only crankwalk that really matters is the one that prematurely destroys an engine.
