Bullseye Garrett GT-30R or fp 3052 turbo?????????

Hey Guys just wanted to know who has used these turbos? I like the bullseye turbo because it would be alot cheapper with the int. wastegate and that it can bolt up to what I have. The fp is twice as much but is it much better? I am going to run this on a gs-t . Also was bulleyes turbo use to be extreme turbo back in the day?thanks guys
 
Trust me this is my second gs-t it is being bulit as we speak. Everything from bottom to top of motor being replaced. thanks

Yes and DSM Performance or whatever the hell it was called. Does the name Mutt ring a bell?

Any one know what the A/R is on the FP housing? My bullseye rep tells me their housing is somewhere between .48 and .63 (.59 or so....)


Just looking at the basic exhaust inlet and wastegate config they are identical having 8cm inlet's and wastegate gas port right in the collector. Seems to be a fair comparison.

With the high pressure spring offered by bullseye it will be easy to set a base pressure of 18 PSI on these turbo's. Internal vs external is some what negligable if you don't have creep or wastegate blowing open, josh at GRE used this setup without hickups on a 60-1. If you want more pressure use your boost controller.

Unless the A/R is alot larger I don't see the performance being vastly better with an FP setup, only vastly more expensive..

Turbine housing design plays a huge role in performance. FP's housing is designed from the ground up to make max power & spool (& this is why it costs more). The bullseye housing as far as I know is based on the mitsu housing internally, which isn't designed for max performance/power. Most of the time the old saying holds true "you get what you pay for" :thumb:

The housings internally are mirrored to garrett's specs with the acception of A/R wich is spec'ed to the builders discretion. In the olden days new turbo's were stuck into actual mitsu housings machined to fit. The housings would fit the circumference of the wheel but the valute and every thing else was made for a 20g. This is not the case with bullseye, each housing is spec'ed internally exactly to each turbo just like FP's, the only thing the same as the old mitso style bolt on's is the mitsu O2 housing flange and the proper distancing from mani to O2 flange so that standardized mitsu O2 housings will line up to our down pipes. The reason FP's housing is more expensive lies in the material and casting procedure. FP went over the top casting their housing with stainless steal (expensive material and more costly to cast) and added very expensive V-band clamps. Since the V-band clamps are not casted in it takes some ones time and expertise to weld them into each housing. I'm not taking any thing away from forced performance, they make a fine product but so does bullseye.

I wish I knew what A/R the FP turbo had, they do take the advantage of not needing a port job though. Bullseye's casting is pretty clean compared to 80% of other bolt on housings though.
 
What is the max a 30 will ever see as far as horse power and torque? Realistic number, I know its good for 500 . If there is anyone with actual numbers and time slips with a 30 doesn't matter which 30 it is. Full interior also. Sorry if I took this off subject been searching and bumped into this thread and I see you guys know what your talking about so I thought I'd ask.
 
Which 30 are you talking about, the 3052 or 3065, etc? The 3052 would be rated at 52lb/min but I suspect that slightly underrated as people have seen more then 52 lb/min out of them. 1lb/min is ~10 crank hp, currently I see 45lb/min at 24 psi on my 3052 & that made 408.5 whp on my street tune. I don't see an issue running 30-32psi on this turbo which should net me around 51-53 lb/min. Now, there is defently more to be had then what I see with my setup. I run a 3"HF CAT, stock 2g head, FP1X cams, which are designed for mid range power & an evoIII intake mani. Lose the Cat, add a SMIM, add some better matched cams like a 272 varient, do some head work, etc & you'll see more out of it. I've seen guy posting 520-550awhp with the 3052, to give you an idea.
 
Those are some good numbers and your dyno sheet looks strong.:thumb: My boy has an evo and is running stock block and head built, methonal and a gt 35 on pump gas and 30 psi. He reaches 500 whp running 11.8 on the 1/4 mile. I think the set up is sloppy Im trying to set an example with my set up and show I can get a more firm hp rage along the rpm chart and run better numbers. I think a GT 35 is not a good turbo to run on pump gas not that its not good but not necessary just my opinion . Any others?
