Its no Magnus, but I bet it makes alot more power than a stock manifold. Also note it weighs 11 lbs, Magnus weighs 4, Forrester is a ton.

I wouldnt blast the engineering behind this manifold, we have no idea if there was actually time spent on it or not. Its almost the same design as BJ's, and it probably performs just as well.

What manifold are you talking about that weights 11 lbs? The JM manifold or the bulldog?

Quick question guys, do you guys have to redline higher to get the most power out of the intake manifold, like the Magnus one? What do you guys redline at?

Where are the nitrous bungs??

I'm assuming he didn't order the manifold with nitrous bungs since they are an optional $25 addition, just like they are a $40 addition on the Magnus manifolds.

but that doesnt have much to do with cams and the intake

Instead of whoring up this thread, what about starting your own intake manifold thread
specifically related to your vehicle's modifications and goals?

I'm sure the bulldog one might show some improvement of air flow, but I would never buy one for the fact of them just slapping it on ebay and trying to push it.....I bought a FRH and, yes it's heavy, but it's quality and a lot of thought was put into it. I can drill and tap as many vaccum fittings I need and then plug them without worries and never worry about welds.
Sometimes trying to be cheap (and not saying you are) is not always good....I like some of dejon's stuff...but have you ever looked at the thickness of their flanges..who knows what this thing is going to look like in person. Compare that throttle body end plate to the pictures of the JM one posted... 'nuff said.

get a forrester, that is all
Eh, I'd think again about that one. No velocity stacks, etc. It is basically a short stock manifold with a bigass Phenolic spacer. Seriously, think about something else.

Has anyone done a comparison of velocity stacks vs. no velocity stacks?
I read through the big intake manifold testing. I didn't think the velocity stacks were always available. Maybe I'll start another thread.

My Forrester is making good numbers with the 50 trim and 272's. Don't have anything else to compare it to, but I'm happy with the way it compliments the other mods I have.

i wouldnt say the forrester has alot of design into it etc. Im not saying it doesnt work, noslo is proof it works. But it has that like 1" phenolic spacer mainly because they cast the runners too short and realized how bad the low end loss was and instead of re-casting them they made the spacer.

Jim mckeone did a little test on his mani, no stacks vs stacks. He gained 2-3mph i think and dropped like .3 in 1/4 WITH stacks.

I dunno, ask John Shep what he thinks of his BJ Cylinder head's manifold....he was the first one to use it with great results(8.71 at 167mph)

Nono, I wasn't mocking the BJ mani, I was just stating what SBR posted about that particular company and how it looked similar to the eBay knockoff. I'm sure it performs well. Still planning on a Magnus though.

THIS IS A QUESTION TO THOSE THAT BASHED THE Bulldog sheetmetal intake manifold
BY BASING YOUR JUDGEMENTS ON THE LOOKS OF IT. SAYING SHIT LIKE IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP AND YOU DONT THINK THAT ANY ENGINEERING WENT INTO BUILDING IT.

MY QUESTION IS THIS HOW THE HELL ARE YOU GANNA SIT THERE AND BASH THIS MANIFOLD AND, THEN COMPARE IT TO ANOTHER MANIFOLD THE JM MANIFOLD AND SAY SHIT LIKE IT'S REAL QUALITY WHEN REALLY THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE JM MANIFOLD HAS A SLIGHT SLANT TO IT AND THAT IT'S NICE AND SHINY

Wow thats pretty crazy, do you have any more info on the setup that user was running. Ive seen manifolds crack from too much pressure, but never blow up and bend like that, unless it was during a nitrous explosion, and I dont see any NOS bungs on that manifold, it just looks like there was something else involved other then high boost.

hehehe oh i know this car all to well has nothing more then a sbr cast exhaust mani port evo3 16 g supra side mount and my own intercoller piping desing to work with e 3" gm maf to the magnus 650 injectors dsm link 272 cams but i guess he was having some boosting problems wich was later diagnost as a cat problem in the exhaust he disconected the entire exhaust at the o2 housing running 25 psi with alchol injection and well...boom!...LOL really don't know how the hell he had it tuned but i did look at some of the welds and they where a bit on the thin side but i'm sure there was a bit on the tuning that wasn't right but on a side note they are getting him another one
