Building a new head

I am going to get a new valve train but I dont have much experience with my dohc engine so could anyone help me with a complete list of the parts I will need?

To completely rebuild it you would need to get new valves, new valve stem seals, valve guides, springs, and retainers. but you can get away with the original springs and retainers. You should just throw valves, stem seals, and guides in it. They have all the things you need for cheap on ebay. They have oem size stainless steel valves for cheap and bronze valve guides for cheap also. Stem seals are like 32 bucks at autozone.

Are you trying to do this yourself or are you taking it to a shop? You can't just disassemble a head and pop new parts in. If you take it to a shop, which you should, they will inspect the head and tell you what needs to be replaced. At worst case you will need to replace all things listed above. More than likely you can keep you old valve, retainers, locks, and maybe springs. You probably should have you vavle guides replaced either way. It is just good practice to replace them when you do a vavle job. Hope this helps you out.

I am enlisting the help of a mechanic and im getting my head machined at a machinist. This isnt a stock rebuild. I am hoping for 400-500 hp eventually (not just rebuilding head)

164xxx km on the engine. I plan on getting the 3g lifters if I can find where to buy them.
