I'm not the kind of guy that likes body kits. I don't think I would ever put an aftermarket kit on my GST. But if that was made, I deffinatly would! That just looks fawkin sweet!

I think it really helps to update the style of the car. Expecially the 1ga's. I makes it look a couple years old instead of 14goin on 15yrs old.

Why must kit companies hate so much on us 1st gen'ers .. we have like 5 to pick from and EVERYONE has them .. i want some originality .. this is what im talking about ..



Im about to just order a ground effects kit (just skirts) to keep the stock look but bring the lines down a bit ..

You know, you guys keep talking about having Buddyclub make the kit for us, why not have someone you know who does fiberglass work do it. I know SOMEONE must have a good friend who can make a mold. Sure it would be time consuming, but then you could sell them for a decent profit. Hell I would pay GOOD money, like $1000+ for that first body kit on the white 1GB. Just the front bumper, and then simple skirts, and a rear skirt. Hell I would consider keeping my car and taking it with me to Japan instead of selling before I go if I could get that kit.

Just an idea.

I know it would be a good amount of work, but I've seen it done before, you could even take an already made bumper and probably modify it, I've seen a BuddyClub1 bumper made for a Civic modified to fit on a Ford Ranger, and it looked really straight. So it can be done, we just need to find someone with the time, skill, and equipment.

andys auto sport they always are doin work on the less popular cars, when i was in the grand am scene they were always doin work for us...

Hey,

I'm new around here, and to DSMs.

Let me say, I like the way this looks, I've got a '92 Laser and I think I would buy this kit.

My uncle builds offshore racing boats, he does all kinds of stuff with composites, fiberglass, carbon fiber, kevlar, vacuum bagging and even foam/CNC CAD aaisted designs and stuff. I can't make any promises on his part, but I could talk to him if you guys wanted me to. His business is slow and he might be able to tool around with something like this on the side. But like I said I can't make promises on his part.

His company is called Hydra-Tech, here in NJ.

If you guys want me to I'll talk to him about it, if I could show him a market (and I could somehow get a BC2 bumper to cut up and build into a hybrid with my Laser bumper) he might be able to produce the things.

I wonder how much I can pick up some front fenders for to give it a try... I'll go down to a junk yard one of these days and see if I can get a set from a 1g. With the fender as a base all I really gotta do is build whatever shape I want out of clay onto it, build a mold around it and I can lay the fiberglass inside the mold after I pop it. He might be up to do one on a trial basis as it's a small project (compared to a 42' boat) and I could take some pics of what it looks like on my Laser.

What's your guys input? Got any ideas you'd like to see on a wide-body/fender kit?

yeah... what about making some exterrior accessories that actually work, sorta like those ram air hoods for 2nd gens but make one for a first gen... or maybe a scoop on the bumper that comes with a mo-bob-er to turn stock air can into ram air... you know?? Stuff that actually works AND looks frikkin awesome.

Yeah I've been waiting to hear about this. It's tax season and my tax return should be nice this year, it would be nice to spend it on updating the looks of my 1G to that beautiful white one that he chopped.

I posted over at that makemykit.com place. I got a response and the guy wants to know if there could be a group buy for this. He said 7 people is what he would need, so I need to know who would be intrested in getting one. Also would it be for only the front fasica or would it be for the whole kit? Im emailing a response to him right now, and am going to find out some pricing. I posted the thread for 90-91's but let him know about 92-94's also via a link to this thread.
